This is a traditional Thai wedding experience. Five Buddhist monks will attend the ceremony and begin the proceedings with a prayer for the happiness of the marriage. This is followed by the Head Monk blessing the bride, groom and wedding party with holy water. To complete the ceremony, the happy couple then present a food offering to the monks (provided by Sandalwood). Please note that the ceremony normally takes place around 10am, and must end before 12 noon, as Buddhist monks are not allowed to eat any food after that time.
The wedding ceremony is performed by three to five Buddhist monks and it begins with prayer enchanted for the good luck and well being of the bride and the bridegroom. The heads of bride and bridegroom are brought close together with the help of joined loops of Sai Mongkon. The significance being that two people with have individual identities travel with same fate.
The wedding ceremony continues with the lighting of candles and incense by the bride and groom. The ceremony is soon taken over by the Head Monk, blessing the bride, groom and wedding party by sprinkling the holy water. The ceremony continues with the blessed couple giving food offerings to the monks in Sandalwood. It is necessary that the wedding ceremony takes place at 10 in the morning and gets over by 12 noon.
